Mexico Fraud Complaints Rise 31.5%

Informador added that some of the most common methods in Mexico include SMS messages that appear to come from banks, WhatsApp chats with supposed executives, emails carrying official-looking logos, calls from numbers that seem institutional, fake social media profiles, and web domains that closely resemble the real ones.

According to that outlet, specialists link the rise in scams to technology used to mimic the image and data of companies and banking institutions. They also recommended checking official sites, not sharing codes or passwords, and monitoring bank activity with notifications turned on.
