Modoc Medical Center said it has completed its review of the affected files, mailed notices to the relevant individuals, reported the incident to federal authorities and regulators, and updated its privacy and security safeguards.
Becker's Hospital Review, which first reported the case, said the hospital did not disclose how many people were affected. The publication dated the unauthorized access notice to Jan. 19 through Jan. 27 and said notification to individuals came after that detection.
